Job Title

Firmware Development Engineer

Role Summary

Develop firmware for Infrastructure Processing Units (IPUs / Smart-NICs) that offload network and storage tasks from host CPUs. Work with architects, hardware designers, firmware developers, and silicon validation teams to implement, integrate, debug, and validate firmware on pre-silicon and silicon platforms.

Experience Level

Entry-level / College graduate. The role expects approximately 2+ years of hands-on development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties focus on firmware implementation, integration, and troubleshooting across pre-silicon and silicon environments.

  • Analyze existing firmware and implement new algorithms or changes to meet requirements.
  • Write and debug firmware code on pre-silicon and silicon platforms.
  • Develop and integrate firmware components for IPU systems ensuring performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex firmware and driver issues.
  • Collaborate closely with Architecture, Logic Design, and Validation teams to deliver functional firmware.
  • Use AI-assisted tools where appropriate to accelerate development and validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience programming in C or Python.
  • Experience with Linux kernel and device driver development.
  • Experience using source control systems, particularly Git.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer-oriented mindset.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Agile (SCRUM) practices.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (or similar technical bachelor's degree).
