Firmware Core Engineer

Role Summary

Join the NIC Firmware Core team to design, implement, test, and optimize core firmware features for NVIDIA networking adapters. Work across hardware, firmware, and software interfaces to define and deliver firmware flows, verification environments, and automation.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on development and cross-functional collaboration to advance networking adapter firmware capabilities.

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and optimize core features of network adapters.
  • Collaborate with chip design, software, verification, and architecture teams to define firmware flows and interfaces.
  • Contribute to verification and automation tooling and methodologies (C layer, C++ OOP verification environments).
  • Lead feature development and take ownership of tasks end-to-end.
  • Improve team processes and engineering practices.

Requirements

Core must-have skills and competencies, followed by useful additional skills.

Must-have:

  • 2+ years of relevant firmware or embedded systems experience.
  • Strong understanding of OOP, computer architecture, and operating systems concepts.
  • Proven problem-solving skills; independent and curious approach.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with chip design, verification, firmware, software, and architecture teams.
  • Ability to lead feature development and own delivery from design through validation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to learn independently.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with C++ and Embedded C programming.
  • Experience partnering with software and architecture teams on system-level features.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, Linux, and scripting languages.
  • Experience solving deep technical problems and debugging complex systems.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is stated in the posting; the company also accepts equivalent practical experience.
