Field Applications Engineer, Verification
Role Summary
Provide technical pre-sales and post-sales support for verification tools to semiconductor customers across Italy and Europe. Serve as the customer-facing expert who deploys and debugs verification flows, runs evaluations, and communicates issues and requirements to R&D.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically 5+ years in the semiconductor industry (EDA company or semiconductor design company).
Responsibilities
Work directly with customers and internal teams to evaluate, deploy, and troubleshoot verification solutions.
- Run pre-sales demos, benchmarks, and proof-of-concept evaluations on customer designs.
- Deploy and troubleshoot verification tools post-sale and resolve engineering issues.
- Reproduce customer problems and provide detailed context for R&D to implement fixes.
- Deliver technical workshops and training on verification technologies and methodologies.
- Advise customers on methodology changes to accelerate tool adoption and reduce schedule risk.
- Maintain multiple customer engagements and build trusted relationships with engineering and management teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry at an EDA company or semiconductor design company.
- Hands-on RTL verification or verification methodology experience.
- Strong knowledge in at least one area: static verification (SpyGlass), formal verification (VC Formal), or dynamic simulation (VCS, UVM).
- Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Comfortable with Linux and scripting (Tcl, Python, Perl, or shell).
- Fluent English; ability to present technical content to engineers and managers and manage multiple engagements.
Nice-to-have:
- Italian language skills are a strong advantage.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
