Field Applications Engineer II – Fab Technology Co-Optimization
Role Summary
Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to customers using Silvaco simulation and modeling tools. Partner with sales to define technical value, implement evaluation plans, validate solutions, and identify growth opportunities for accounts.
Work closely with customer implementation teams to troubleshoot, demonstrate solutions, and produce technical collateral that clarifies product differentiation.
Experience Level
Entry-level — 0–3 years of industry experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include direct customer engagement, technical evaluation, and collaboration with sales and product teams.
- Advise customers on simulation workflows and technical trade-offs for process and device co-optimization.
- Develop and execute evaluation plans to demonstrate and validate Silvaco solutions against customer success criteria.
- Provide training, onboarding guidance, and troubleshooting to reduce adoption friction.
- Collaborate with customers’ implementation teams to develop solutions and propose features or product additions based on requirements.
- Contribute technical input to sales proposals and account strategies.
- Create technical collateral (application notes, examples, documentation) to explain technology and differentiation.
Requirements

Must-have: 0–3 years industry experience in semiconductor manufacturing, R&D, and/or integrated circuit design processes.

Must-have: Practical experience using design, modeling, or simulation tools (academic, research, or industry use).

- Analytical, creative problem-solving skills and persistence in tracking complex problems with minimal oversight.

Nice-to-have: Domain depth in one or more areas such as Memory Technology (NAND, DRAM), CMOS device and process technology, or mechanical stress physics in semiconductor manufacturing.

Education Requirements
Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Solid State Physics, or a semiconductor-related academic program; "or equivalent" practical experience accepted. No other degrees or certifications are specified.
