Field Applications Engineer - FPGA Specialist
Role Summary
Provide pre- and post-sales technical support and consulting for FPGA and related system designs across Arrow's regional branches. Partner with local sales teams and suppliers to qualify solutions, drive demand, and support customers from design requirements through deployment.
Role involves customer-facing technical presentations, supplier training, relationship building, and ownership of key opportunities. Competitive compensation and standard corporate benefits are offered.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires 5+ years of electronic design experience focused on FPGA design and validation.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Partner with regional Arrow sales teams on pre- and post-sales engagements to promote FPGA-based solutions.
- Provide an escalation path and technical support to local FAEs for high-priority opportunities.
- Work with customers to capture system- and component-level design requirements.
- Attend and deliver supplier trainings and translate supplier technology strengths/limits to customer needs.
- Train sales teams on new products and assist in marketing products to target customers.
- Manage top opportunities and maintain the opportunity funnel within the assigned region.
- Prepare and deliver sales and technical presentations; support customer meetings on-site and virtually.
- Plan and organize customer engineering events and seminars.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support branches across the assigned region; travel up to ~25% may be required.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:

Must-have: Practical experience designing with FPGAs (HDL, simulation, verification, board-level integration, or equivalent).

Must-have: Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills; customer-facing experience.

Must-have: Ability to work independently and act as a technical resource for less-experienced colleagues.

Nice-to-have: Sales experience and familiarity with opportunity management and sales compensation plans.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required (posting states 5+ years of electronic design experience with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering).
