Job Title
Field Applications Engineer, Analog & Power — Local to Boston / New England
Role Summary
Technical lead for analog and power solutions supporting customers in New England and Eastern Canada. The role drives system-level power architecture, component selection, lab validation, and hands-on debug to convert designs into production revenue.
Position is remote but candidates must be located in or willing to be based in the New England / Boston area to support regional customers.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires 3+ years of experience in analog and power electronics in customer-facing or design roles.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across customer engagements from architecture through production readiness.
- Lead power architecture and power-tree design, device selection, and system optimization.
- Perform schematic and system-level design reviews; evaluate component choices and PCB layout for power integrity and thermal concerns.
- Debug complex analog and power issues, including hands-on board bring-up, measurement, validation, and failure analysis.
- Evaluate new products and competitive solutions across PMICs, DC/DC, GaN/MOSFETs, LDOs, battery management, and signal chain devices.
- Support integration between power, processor, and connectivity subsystems and provide field feedback to influence product roadmaps.
- Deliver customer trainings, technical seminars, and internal enablement materials.
- Travel to customer sites as needed (approximately 10–20%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and behaviors for success in the role.
- Minimum 3+ years experience in analog and power electronics in a customer-facing or design role.
- Proven experience with power conversion and management (buck/boost, PMICs, LDOs), power sequencing, and battery-powered systems.
- Hands-on lab proficiency with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, transient response measurements, and bench characterization.
- Experience with schematic and PCB layout review focused on power integrity and thermal considerations.
- Strong system-level perspective: interaction of power with MCUs/MPUs, DDR, high-speed interfaces, and connectivity subsystems.
- Customer-facing skills: technical communication, presentations, and training delivery.
- Self-driven, collaborative, able to own complex technical engagements and provide actionable field feedback to product teams.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering required; MSEE preferred.
