Field Application Support Engineer

Role Summary

Customer-facing technical role on the sales team for Siemens EDA emulation solutions. The engineer deploys and integrates emulation software and hardware at customer sites, supports product evaluations, troubleshoots technical issues, and provides feedback to product and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on customer deployments, technical support during evaluations, and cross-functional collaboration to drive product improvements.

• Deploy and integrate Siemens EDA emulation software and hardware at customer sites.
• Act as the technical lead during product evaluations to ensure technical milestones are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues; deliver technical presentations and demos.
• Collaborate with sales, account teams, R&D, and marketing to capture requirements and identify business opportunities.
• Provide in-depth technical feedback and product ideas to development teams.
• Design and develop software components for emulation, native-accelerated, and model-based (QEMU/AFM) SystemC solutions.
• Integrate software and hardware components and participate in software development and testing cycles.
• Build and maintain peer-level technical relationships with customers and promote technical customer service.

Technical skills and experience required for the role.

Must-have:

• Strong experience in C/C++ programming.
• Basic knowledge of digital circuits and digital design/systems.
• Experience with software development and testing cycles and software/hardware integration.
• Highly developed communication and presentation skills for customer-facing work.

Nice-to-have:

• RTL development / Verilog.
• Scripting languages: Python, Perl, Shell, Tcl.
• SystemC and model-based emulation experience.
• Embedded software development using RTOS (e.g., QNX) and Linux OS experience.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 safety standard.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.S. in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience (posting states "or equivalent with validated years' experience").
