Field Application Engineering Manager - EDA
Role Summary
Lead a Field Application Engineering (FAE) team responsible for technical sales and customer evaluations across the Hardware Assisted Verification portfolio (emulation, emulation offload/acceleration, and FPGA prototyping). Partner with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to drive product direction, customer success, and revenue growth.
Position requires hands-on technical credibility, customer-facing engagements, team development, and up to 50% travel.

Responsibilities
Manage and grow the FAE team and ensure successful technical engagements and product adoption.
- Lead FAE execution for assigned portfolio and product line across customer engagements.
- Guide technical evaluations involving emulation, offload/hybrid flows, prototyping, DFT, and power-aware verification.
- Articulate technical value and business impact (ROI, time-to-market, productivity) to customers and executives.
- Define success criteria for evaluations and ensure competitive differentiation.
- Partner with Sales and Account Directors on opportunity planning and multi-year strategy.
- Provide structured customer and market feedback to Marketing and R&D to influence roadmap and product enhancements.
- Coordinate regional technical account planning and cross-portfolio solution strategy for global accounts.
- Prioritize FAE resource allocation, oversee hiring/onboarding, and manage team performance and retention.
- Drive alignment and collaboration across regions and with Product Engineering, Support, and Services.
Requirements

Must-have: Proven experience in technical sales, field application engineering, or related technical leadership roles; demonstrated leadership of technical sales or FAE teams.

Must-have: Deep practical expertise in hardware emulation, emulation offload/acceleration, and FPGA prototyping for SoC and ASIC design.

Must-have: Strong knowledge of Design for Test (DFT) methodologies (scan, ATPG, MBIST/LBIST, compression).

Must-have: Proficiency in power and low-power verification techniques (UPF/1801 concepts, isolation, retention, power-aware debug).
