Field Application Engineer - Tessent Design for Test (DFT)

Role Summary

Work with sales and field technical teams to lead and execute technical engagements that support sales campaigns for Siemens EDA Tessent DFT and related silicon test solutions. The role focuses on driving product adoption, integrating flows into customer environments, and providing technical leadership for assigned accounts.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8 to 12 years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical account leadership, customer integration, and enabling adoption of test methodologies and tools.

• Lead technical engagements with sales and field teams to support evaluations, pilots, and customer projects.
• Create and implement methodology, flows, and integration into customer environments; debug and bring up new flows.
• Develop relationships across customer organizations to assess technical and business requirements and define technical sales plans.
• Qualify technical viability of leads and identify new opportunities in collaboration with sales.
• Share account, evaluation, competitor, and technology insights with peers, sales, management, and product teams.
• Provide technical leadership and customer presentations for assigned accounts.
• Support simulation, verification, and DFT activities within customer projects.
• Manage project tasks and coordinate with product and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and behavioral competencies for the role.

• 8–12 years as an Applications Engineer, ASIC Design Engineer, or related role.
• Digital design experience and RTL coding with Verilog and/or VHDL.
• Proven Design for Test (DFT) experience for ASIC design.
• Proficiency with TCL scripting and general programming concepts.
• Simulation and verification expertise relevant to ASIC flows.
• Project management experience and strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Customer-facing skills: influencing, teamwork, diplomacy, and familiarity with basic sales tactics and business/financial terminology.
• Ability to work independently, adapt, and drive projects to completion; global perspective when engaging international customers.
• Knowledge of Siemens Tessent DFT products is highly desirable.
• Experience with diagnosis-driven yield analysis is a plus.
• This position is subject to U.S. export control requirements (ITAR/EAR); employment is contingent on verifying U.S. Person status or obtaining necessary export licenses.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) required; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) preferred.
