Field Application Engineer, TCAD

Role Summary

Provide hands-on technical field support for Calibre TCAD solutions to semiconductor customers. Work with sales, product development, and customers to evaluate tools, remove technical obstacles, deliver demonstrations and training, and drive product improvements.

Based in Tokyo with a hybrid work arrangement; role involves customer site visits and travel across the region as required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical support, customer engagement, and product feedback.

• Drive adoption and technical evaluation of Calibre TCAD technology.
• Support tool evaluations, competitive benchmarking, troubleshooting, and on-site issue resolution.
• Develop technical relationships with customers to improve satisfaction and long-term engagement.
• Identify and prioritize customer technical requirements; map test cases and usage scenarios to product capabilities and roadmap.
• Characterize product features and enhancements; provide recommendations and feedback to product development.
• Create and deliver product demonstrations, trainings, and presentations to customers and field engineers.
• Coordinate priorities and timelines with customers and internal stakeholders in dynamic environments.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the semiconductor industry with a deep understanding of IC fabrication processes.
• Hands-on TCAD experience with leading EDA tools (required).
• Proficient scripting skills (Tcl/Tk, Python, or equivalent).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to characterize and implement scripts, libraries, and deployment functionality.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced teams and deliver projects on time with high quality.
• Willingness and ability to travel for customer engagements.
• Nice-to-have: C/C++ programming experience.
