Field Application Engineer — PowerPro

Role Summary

Siemens EDA seeks a customer-focused Field Application Engineer to support the PowerPro platform for RTL and gate-level power analysis and optimization. The role works directly with semiconductor customers, sales, R&D, and product teams to drive evaluations, deployments, and adoption of PowerPro.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Requires 3+ years of RTL (ASIC/FPGA) design experience.

Responsibilities

The FAE will enable customers to evaluate and deploy PowerPro and provide technical leadership across pre- and post-sales activities.

• Partner with sales to define and execute technical strategies aligned to customer requirements.
• Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and workshops.
• Lead evaluations and proof-of-concepts to drive customer adoption and business wins.
• Support deployment and integration of PowerPro across customer teams.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support, including debugging and training.
• Collaborate with R&D and product teams to influence product enhancements and roadmaps.
• Perform customer-facing work, including face-to-face meetings; travel up to ~20%.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate impact in the role.

• Strong RTL design experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or VHDL.
• Knowledge of digital design, static timing analysis (STA), synthesis, and verification flows.
• Understanding of coding styles for synthesis and simulation.
• Experience with RTL power analysis and optimization methodologies.
• Scripting skills: Tcl and Python.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; customer-facing experience preferred.
• Minimum: 3+ years of RTL (ASIC/FPGA) design experience.
• Preferred: experience with power tools (PrimePower, PowerArtist, or similar), low-power methodologies (UPF/CPF), and exposure to advanced SoC designs and nodes.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
