Field Application Engineer – PowerPro
Role Summary
Customer-facing engineer responsible for technical adoption of the PowerPro platform for RTL and gate-level power analysis and optimization. The role partners with sales, R&D, and product teams to drive evaluations, deployments, and customer success.
Experience Level
Mid-level — requires 3+ years of RTL (ASIC/FPGA) design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical support during pre-sales and post-sales activities, driving product evaluations, and enabling customer adoption.
- Work with sales to define and execute technical strategies that meet customer needs.
- Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and workshops.
- Lead evaluations and proof-of-concepts to secure business wins.
- Support deployment, onboarding, and adoption of PowerPro across customer teams.
- Provide technical troubleshooting, debugging, and training for customers.
- Collaborate with R&D and product teams to communicate customer requirements and influence product enhancements.
- Participate in face-to-face customer meetings; travel up to ~20% as required.
Requirements
Required technical skills and competencies, plus preferred additions.
Must-have:
- Strong RTL design experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog or VHDL.
- Knowledge of digital design, STA, synthesis, and verification flows.
- Understanding of coding styles for synthesis and simulation.
- Experience with RTL power analysis and optimization methodologies.
- Scripting skills (Tcl, Python).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with power tools (e.g., PrimePower, PowerArtist, or similar).
- Knowledge of low-power methodologies (UPF/CPF).
- Prior customer-facing FAE or application engineer experience.
- Exposure to advanced SoC designs and advanced process nodes.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
