Field Application Engineer
Role Summary
Technical-sales role on the Siemens EDA field team focused on Aprisa (Place & Route). The role provides technical guidance to customers, supports sales and R&D, and helps validate and deploy P&R solutions through evaluations, benchmarks, and proof-of-concept engagements.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer-facing technical work, collaboration with internal teams, and supporting product adoption for Place & Route solutions.
- Act as the main technical liaison between customers, sales, and R&D for Aprisa and related Place & Route tools.
- Plan and execute customer technical evaluations, benchmarking, and proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate product capabilities and value.
- Guide customers through RTL-to-GDS flows including floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, signal & power integrity, and static timing analysis.
- Collaborate with marketing, R&D, technical support, and customer experience teams to solve complex customer issues and drive adoption.
- Document technical findings, customer interactions, and project outcomes to enable knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Travel to customer sites and internal locations as needed to support engagements and demos.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and customer-facing experience; preferred items listed where appropriate.

Must-have: Hands-on experience with Place & Route tools such as Aprisa, Innovus, or IC Compiler.

Must-have: Practical experience with RTL-to-GDS flows and P&R evaluations or IC design tape-outs.

Must-have: Strong scripting proficiency (TCL, Unix/command-line) and working knowledge of Verilog and UPF.

Must-have: Customer-facing communication skills and ability to manage technical discussions with diverse stakeholders.

Nice-to-have: Experience at advanced process nodes, STA, signal/power integrity, and benchmarking large designs.

Nice-to-have: Prior applications engineering or technical sales experience in EDA or semiconductor workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, or VLSI Design (the posting allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree).
