Field Application Engineer
Role Summary
Work with the UK sales team and strategic customers to drive FPGA-based designs from architecture through production. Provide technical consultation on FPGA products, development tools, IP, boards, and software to secure designs and accelerate time-to-market.
Experience Level
Senior-level — minimum ~10 years industry experience (posting specifies a minimum of 10 years).
Responsibilities
Provide pre- and post-sales technical support and enablement for customers across the design cycle.
- Develop and execute territory, account and opportunity technical plans in partnership with Sales.
- Engage with system architects and decision-makers to capture requirements and influence system/architectural choices.
- Run feasibility studies, proofs of concept, and product demonstrations for customers and seminars.
- Create technical proposals based on product knowledge and customer requirements.
- Provide technical support from architecture through production and coordinate specialist technical resources.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product roadmaps and align them to customer requirements.
- Present technical content and represent the company at customer meetings and events.
Requirements
Must-have technical and interpersonal capabilities for the role.
- Proven FPGA design experience and proficiency with FPGA development tools.
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with customer technical teams and internal stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional technical resources and supporting complex design cycles.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering (BS) is specified or equivalent; the posting allows equivalent practical experience. The minimum qualifications also specify approximately 10 years of industry experience.
