Field Application Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical sales and customer-facing engineering support for Siemens EDA's Place & Route solutions (Aprisa and similar tools). Work with the India field team to run evaluations, demonstrate product value, and coordinate between customers, sales, and R&D to drive adoption.

Responsibilities
Deliver technical guidance, evaluations, and cross-functional support to enable customer success with Place & Route flows.
- Act as the primary technical link between customers, sales, and R&D for Aprisa and Place & Route offerings.
- Conduct customer technical evaluations, benchmarking, and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Demonstrate RTL-to-GDS flows including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, SI/PI, and static timing analysis.
- Collaborate with marketing, R&D, technical support, and customer experience teams to resolve complex issues and drive product adoption.
- Document technical findings, customer interactions, and project outcomes for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Travel to customer sites and balance remote work with in-person engagements as required.
Requirements

- Hands-on experience with Place & Route tools (for example: Innovus, IC Compiler, Aprisa) and conducting P&R evaluations.
- Practical experience with RTL-to-GDS flows at advanced nodes and involvement in IC design tape-outs or P&R benchmarking.
- Expert scripting and shell skills (Tcl, Unix/Linux command line).
- Working knowledge of Verilog and power-format/data handling such as UPF.
- Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence for technical and business discussions with customers.
- Customer-focused with the ability to prioritize ROI-driven technical engagements.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, or VLSI Design. Equivalent experience is explicitly accepted.
