Digital Engineer (SoC RTL)
Lattice SemiconductorJob Title
Digital Engineer (SoC RTL)
Role Summary
Individual contributor on the hardware design team responsible for RTL design and SoC integration of FPGA IP and full-chip features. Located in Pune, working on FPGA projects and coordinating with global teams.
The role combines hands-on RTL coding and verification practices with collaboration across architecture and micro-architecture teams; the engineer will both teach best practices and learn FPGA-specific implementation details.
Experience Level
Mid-level β the posting requests approximately 6+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include RTL development, SoC integration, and maintaining design quality across FPGA projects.
- Contribute to FPGA logic design for key blocks and full-chip integration.
- Drive RTL development using Verilog and SystemVerilog with best-in-class coding methodologies.
- Define and implement assertions, checkers, and automated scripts to ensure design quality.
- Perform and address quality checks including lint, CDC, RDC, and SDC.
- Work with architects and micro-architecture teams to define design specifications.
- Collaborate with worldwide teams and integrate third-party IP as required.
- Mentor colleagues and share best-known-methods; remain open to learning from the FPGA team.
- Occasional travel as needed.
Requirements
Required and preferred technical skills and experience.
- Must-have: 6+ years driving logic design across silicon projects; strong RTL coding skills in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Must-have: Experience with SoC integration and defining micro-architecture; selecting and integrating third-party IP.
- Must-have: Practical experience with design-quality flows and tools (lint, CDC, RDC, SDC) and writing assertions/checkers.
- Must-have: Proven ability to work across multiple sites and time zones; independent worker and leader with problem-solving skills.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with ARM processors, AXI/AMBA buses, Ethernet, PCIe, safety/security protocols, and debug architecture.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with FPGA design considerations and common FPGA use-cases.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
