Role Summary

Provide technical field support and enablement for Ethernet switch silicon and reference designs to secure customer design-ins and support board bring-up. Work with customer hardware/software architects, regional engineering teams, and product management to resolve technical issues across hardware, firmware, and software layers.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically requires at least 5 years of relevant technical experience in Ethernet switch silicon support, field applications engineering, board bring-up, or network systems validation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer enablement, design support, and cross-team technical alignment:

• Promote Ethernet switch silicon and reference designs to target accounts through technical presentations and competitive benchmarking.
• Support customer switch board development: schematic/layout reviews, high-speed SerDes signal integrity, optical/copper link budgets, power/thermal constraints, and Top-of-Rack integration.
• Work with customer architects to evaluate network requirements, propose switch topologies, and drive design-in qualification for high-radix switches.
• Provide hands-on consultation for fabric optimization, software integration, bring-up, and system debugging across hardware and software layers.
• Collaborate with internal architecture and product management teams to convey regional technical requirements and resolve escalations.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; concise list of practical requirements.

• Minimum ~5 years' experience in Ethernet switch silicon support, semiconductor field applications, board bring-up, or network systems validation in AI, HPC, or data center networking domains.
• In-depth understanding of switch ASIC pipelines and switch architecture.
• Strong knowledge of L2/L3 Ethernet switching, BGP, and RoCEv2; familiarity with emerging UEC and ESUN frameworks (nice-to-have).
• Working knowledge of PCIe architecture, PCIe switches, and host-to-switch/NIC interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with switch SDK APIs, Linux networking tools, and packet analyzers.
• Basic scripting in Python for diagnostic automation, SDK register access, and log parsing.
• Fluent written and spoken English capable of leading technical design reviews and cross-regional collaboration.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's (BS) or Master's (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
