Field Application Consultant

Role Summary

Provide technical pre-sales and post-sales support for Siemens EDA's Design and Verification portfolio, working with sales, account managers, and product teams to qualify opportunities, run evaluations, and ensure customer success.

Based in Bangalore with a hybrid work model and regular travel to customer sites and other Siemens locations.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Candidates typically meet one of the specified experience tracks (see Education Requirements) and have substantial hands-on verification or EDA experience supporting customers.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include technical leadership for sales campaigns and customer engagements.

• Lead and define technical engagements that support sales campaigns; qualify technical viability of opportunities.
• Plan and execute simulation/VIP evaluations and benchmarking aligned to customer flows.
• Deliver product presentations and live demonstrations to prospective customers, communicating value clearly.
• Integrate and bring up simulation and VIPs in customer testbenches or guide customer teams to do so.
• Provide timely pre-sales and post-sales technical support to ensure customer success.
• Share account, evaluation, competitor, and technical information with sales, product, and management teams.
• Maintain positive customer relationships and influence product/marketing direction based on customer needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet customer and business objectives.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items noted.

• Strong knowledge of VHDL/Verilog, SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Proven experience with simulation and verification techniques: directed tests, constraint-random testing, assertions, and coverage-driven verification.
• Hands-on experience with EDA simulation and debug tools (examples: ModelSim, Questa, VCS, NC-Sim, IUS, Visualizer, Verdi).
• In-depth RTL and gate-level verification and debug experience.
• Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills for customer-facing work.
• Strong project-management skills and the ability to decompose complex problems into manageable tasks.
• Customer-oriented with the ability to collaborate across sales, product, and engineering teams; willingness to travel as required.
• Nice-to-have: low-power verification experience (UPF) and protocol verification for AMBA, Ethernet, HDMI, USB, PCIe, DDRx, MIPI, etc.

Education Requirements

BE in Electronics or Computer Engineering with 7+ years of experience in semiconductor or EDA, OR Master's in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of experience in semiconductor or EDA; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
