Job Title
Failure Analysis Engineer (RF)
Role Summary
Investigate RF-related product anomalies in a lab environment, design and execute fault-isolation experiments, and report technical findings to global teams.
Collaborate with hardware and cross-functional teams to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions presented in reviews and executive meetings.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The role expects advanced practical experience in RF lab work, signal analysis, and failure investigation; no explicit years-of-experience were stated.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities performed in a laboratory and cross-team setting.
- Design and execute investigation plans to determine root causes of RF and product anomalies.
- Operate RF and electrical fault-isolation equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector signal generators, etc.).
- Perform RF signal processing and simulations to isolate and identify signals in noisy environments.
- Document results, prepare technical reports, and present findings in global meetings and executive reviews.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to propose corrective actions and next steps.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and communication abilities.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals and communication theory.
- Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment: VNA, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector signal generators.
- Experience in RF signal processing and simulation techniques.
- Full-stack project experience from basic logic and theory to working prototypes.
- Fluent English with clear written and verbal communication for technical reporting.
- Ability to prioritize multiple high-priority tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with failure analysis/debug tools such as Lock-in Thermography (LIT), OBIRCH, EMMI, SAT, or nano probe.
- Knowledge of antenna design, wave propagation, and radiation performance.
- Failure-analysis experience in RFFE, motherboards, electronic components, semiconductor devices, or semiconductor manufacturing.
- Software coding experience in AI/ML.
Education Requirements
PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, or a related field.
