Failure Analysis Engineer
Role Summary
The Failure Analysis Engineer diagnoses product failures, determines root cause, documents findings, and recommends corrective actions to reduce warranty returns. The role works within the failure analysis/service engineering function supporting product returns, testing, and cross-functional investigations.

Responsibilities
The engineer will perform hands-on failure analysis, testing, and reporting to support product quality and warranty processes.
- Perform electrical and mechanical evaluation of components, sub-components and systems to determine causes of failure.
- Verify analog and digital performance as part of failure investigations.
- Conduct product returns handling and failure analysis on returned parts.
- Analyze failure reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and improve failure analysis methods, processes, procedures, and test equipment.
- Maintain daily productivity/workflow reports and update process documentation regularly.
- Meet internal and external service level agreements related to failure analysis and returns.
- Read blueprints, specifications, and engineering change documents; interact with employees at all levels and with suppliers or external customers.
Requirements

- Relevant experience performing failure analysis, diagnostics, or product testing in an electronics or electro-mechanical environment (or equivalent practical experience).
- Practical knowledge of test and diagnostic techniques for analog and digital circuits and mechanical inspection methods.
- Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills.
- Good organization, planning and time-management skills; able to manage multiple competing tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and engineering changes.
- Interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively across functions and with suppliers or external customers.
Education Requirements
University degree required (e.g., Bachelor's degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
