Failure Analysis Engineer

Role Summary

The Failure Analysis Engineer identifies root causes of product failures, performs electrical and mechanical testing and diagnostics, and produces reports with corrective recommendations. The role supports warranty investigations and continuous improvement of failure-analysis methods and processes.

Responsibilities

Key duties include testing, diagnosing, documenting failures, and recommending corrective actions.

  • Evaluate electrical and mechanical characteristics of systems, integrated circuits, components, and sub-components to determine failure causes, including verification of analog and digital performance.
  • Conduct product returns and perform failure analysis on returned products.
  • Analyze failure reports and recommend corrective actions; develop methods, processes, procedures and equipment to improve failure analysis and reduce failures.
  • Maintain and deliver daily productivity and workflow reports; meet internal and external Service Level Agreements.
  • Maintain, review and update process documentation; participate in regular process reviews and implement improvements.
  • Read blueprints, specifications and engineering changes; interact with stakeholders at all levels, including suppliers and external customers.
