Role Summary

As a Metrology Application Engineer at Micron's Fab 16 in Taichung, you will develop and implement metrology measurement techniques to support lithography overlay, CD-SEM, ellipsometry/scatterometry, XRF, and surface profiling for process development, NPI, and process improvement.

You will work with process engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to drive tool qualification, metrology performance, and standardization of best-known methods.

Responsibilities

The role includes hands-on metrology development, characterization, and cross-functional support:

  • Develop, analyze, and implement measurement techniques for lithography overlay, CD-SEM, ellipsometry/scatterometry, XRF, and surface profiling.
  • Execute Special Work Request (SWR) lots to evaluate and set up metrology recipes for new processes and equipment.
  • Drive supplier tool continuous improvement (CIP) activities and support NPI transfers and tool qualification.
  • Define and track metrology quality metrics, report performance, and provide regular summaries.
  • Engage with fab operations to improve quality, reduce cost and cycle time, and support yield improvements; coordinate measurement capability development.
  • Standardize best-known methods, document knowledge, and support team growth.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience expected (from the job description):

  • Experience with lithography overlay and CD-SEM metrology methodologies.
  • Knowledge of ellipsometry/scatterometry, XRF, and surface profiling techniques.
  • Experience supporting process integration, NPI, tool qualification, and supplier tool improvements.
  • Ability to analyze measurement data, define quality metrics, and communicate results to engineering teams.
  • Hands-on engagement in fab operations and cross-functional collaboration.
