Experienced System Test Engineer (AI/ML)
ArmJob Title
Experienced System Test Engineer (AI/ML)
Role Summary
Work on system-level verification and validation for next-generation neural network hardware accelerators. You will design and operate emulation- and simulation-based test environments, drive verification strategy, and deliver test infrastructure to support bring-up, debug, feature validation, and system validation.
The role is part of a distributed team collaborating with architecture, design, verification, and software groups across multiple global design centres.
Experience Level
Mid-level (experienced). The posting does not state explicit years-of-experience guidance.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing and executing system tests, improving emulation workflows, and supporting silicon bring-up and validation.
- Design, build, and maintain system test automation and test harnesses for AI/ML accelerators.
- Create, run, and debug test cases on simulation and emulation platforms; track results and failures.
- Develop and operate advanced emulation environments to support bring-up, debug, feature and system validation.
- Diagnose simulation/emulation mismatches and support root-cause analysis during bring-up.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, software teams and EDA vendors to resolve tool issues and introduce capabilities.
- Define verification strategy for assigned work packages and take ownership to delivery.
- Plan tasks, estimate effort, and manage progress against schedules.
Requirements
Concise list of must-have and helpful skills. Education is not specified in the posting.
Must-have:- Proven experience specifying, creating, and debugging system-level test environments and authoring test cases.
- Hands-on experience with emulation platforms such as ZeBu, Palladium, or Strato.
- Familiarity with RTL languages (SystemVerilog/Verilog).
- Experience working with EDA vendors to resolve tool issues and add capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce realistic effort and time estimates.
- Experience with requirement definition and management, UVM-based environments, CI platforms, and version control (Git).
- Scripting skills for automation and diagnostics (Python, Perl).
- Experience with software testing of embedded devices, practical knowledge of machine learning and neural networks.
