Job Title

Experienced Staff Design Engineer, Verification

Role Summary

Perform hardware design verification for RISC-V processors/cores, focusing on testbench development, test plan and test creation, debug, coverage closure, modeling, and verification methodology/flow development. The role sits on a verification team supporting IP and SoC development within a semiconductor foundry environment.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical experience guidance: Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years relevant experience, or Master's degree with 1–3 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification activities for RISC-V processors/cores and contributing to verification infrastructure and methodology.

  • Review design and RISC-V standard specifications.
  • Develop testbenches and verification environments.
  • Create test plans and tests; debug test cases and close coverage gaps.
  • Perform modeling, flow, and methodology development for verification.
  • Document processes, methodologies, and verification results.
  • Follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements in all activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Proven experience with Hardware Description Languages: Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Solid understanding of IP development/verification and/or SoC development/verification flows.
  • Experience with testbench development, test plan creation, coverage-driven verification and debug.
  • Proficiency with UNIX operating systems.
  • Programming/assembly knowledge: Assembly and C; scripting in Python or Perl.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills; English fluency.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and languages.

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior leadership or project management experience (projects, competitions, or workplace).
  • Experience mentoring interns or junior engineers.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering (or related field); Master's degree accepted. Curriculum should include computer architecture and VLSI design. Minimum overall GPA: 3.0. (Experience guidance: Bachelor's 3–5 years; Master's 1–3 years.)
