Experienced IP Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design, optimize, and validate digital IP blocks for integration into SoC platforms. Work on RTL coding, simulation, and microarchitecture to meet power, performance, area, and timing targets.

Collaborate with SoC customers, verification teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure correct integration and high-quality IP delivery.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Years guidance: typically 5+ years relevant experience with a bachelor's degree (reduced with advanced degrees per Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Primary technical responsibilities and delivery expectations:

• Develop logic design, write RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog), and run simulations for IP blocks and subsystems.
• Define and implement architecture and microarchitecture features for IP blocks.
• Optimize designs for power, performance, area, and timing using appropriate strategies and tools.
• Create, debug, and verify RTL to ensure correctness for physical implementation.
• Review verification plans, ensure feature test coverage, and resolve failing RTL tests.
• Collaborate with SoC teams for integration, handoff, and delivery of IP blocks.
• Adhere to quality assurance protocols and document technical requirements, designs, and implementation details.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and other mandatory criteria (degree details are summarized separately under Education Requirements):

• Proven RTL development experience using SystemVerilog and Verilog.
• Hands-on microarchitecture design and RTL development expertise.
• Experience with lint tools, UPF low-power coding/debugging, and testbench creation.
• Ability to debug microarchitecture logic and simulation issues.
• Intermediate to advanced English communication (verbal and written).
• Must have unrestricted/permanent right to work in Costa Rica.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with power gating and other low-power design techniques.
• Strong understanding of system architecture and SoC microarchitecture fundamentals.
• Experience producing technical documentation and delivering high-quality results under disciplined execution.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's (BS) degree or prolonged course of study in a specialized field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience guidance from the posting: 5+ years relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years with a master’s degree, or 0 years with a PhD. The posting also permits equivalent experience in place of formal degrees.
