Experienced Field Application Engineer for Israel

Role Summary

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) engages with customers early to assess technical requirements and recommend appropriate GlobalFoundries (GF) technology solutions. The FAE collaborates with account managers, product marketing, and internal technical experts to convert opportunities into design wins and support customers through tapeout.

Experience Level

Senior-level role. The posting specifies a minimum of 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry (design and/or process).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on customer engagement, technical advocacy, and cross-functional coordination to achieve design wins and production-ready designs.

• Engage with customers to capture technical requirements for IC product development.
• Assess competitive landscape and advocate GF value propositions.
• Develop application-specific technical presentations with internal teams.
• Work with account management to combine technical and commercial terms into design-winning proposals.
• Identify and resolve technical or adoption barriers to convert design wins to tapeout-ready designs.
• Advocate internally for features or capabilities to close competitive gaps.
• Follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security procedures in all activities.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and practical skills; preferred items listed separately.

• Experience: Minimum 15 years in the semiconductor industry including design and/or process work.
• Technical skills: Working knowledge of IC chip design flows and tools from architectural definition through performance characterization.
• Professional skills: Technical program management, problem solving, ownership, teamwork, and strong interpersonal communication.
• Travel: Up to 20%, primarily within Europe with some intercontinental travel.
• Language: Fluency in English, written and verbal.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

• Direct experience with EDA tools and IC design flows.
• Exposure to one or more domains: Digital, Analog/Mixed-Signal, HV Power, eNVM, Millimetre Wave, Silicon Photonics.
• SoC product integration and chip/module-level product design experience.
• Project management, planning, and organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical field (for example applied physics) or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
