Job Title
Experienced Digital Design Engineer
Role Summary
Work on micro-architecture and RTL design for TI wireless MCU products targeted at industrial markets. The role focuses on defining, developing and debugging digital design blocks, ensuring protocol and architecture compliance, and collaborating with software, architecture and algorithm teams.
The team uses AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality; the engineer is expected to adopt and promote these practices.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 3+ years of hands-on RTL design experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, verification, and collaboration across disciplines:
- Design and implement RTL micro-architecture modules from architectural specifications.
- Develop and execute debug strategies for verification, DMS and gate-level simulations.
- Ensure compliance with architecture and protocol specifications at both module and system level.
- Work with software, architecture, algorithms and other design teams to integrate hardware and firmware solutions.
- Participate in Power/Performance/Area (PPA) trade-offs to meet target constraints.
- Mentor and support junior engineers on design and verification tasks.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate RTL development and debugging activities.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and core technical skills:
- 3+ years of hands-on RTL design experience developing units and blocks from architectural specifications.
- Proven ability to deliver designs under Power, Performance and Area (PPA) constraints.
- Experience with verification debug, DMS and gate-level simulations (GLS).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across local and global teams.
Nice-to-have / advantageous skills:
- Familiarity with WiFi/BLE protocols, PHY-layer concepts and signal processing.
- Experience with Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) and Reset Domain Crossing (RDC) methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with RTL synthesis, Static Timing Analysis (STA) and post-tapeout silicon activities.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) for code development and debug.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to learning and tackling complex engineering challenges.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
