Job Title

Eval Platform Tools and Infrastructure

Role Summary

Develop and maintain tools and infrastructure for Ethernovia's evaluation platforms used to debug, test, and demonstrate networking devices. Work spans BSP, device drivers, middleware and data-handling/visualization tools for engineering and validation teams.

Role sits on the Software team collaborating with hardware, firmware, and test engineers to support embedded, automotive-grade systems.

Experience Level

Mid-level or Senior. Mid-level: ~3 years experience. Senior: ~7 years experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement and maintain BSPs, drivers and middleware for evaluation boards and reference platforms.
  • Develop tools to collect, process and visualize large volumes of test and telemetry data (CLI and graphical).
  • Integrate and test open-source libraries, middleware and drivers on embedded Linux platforms.
  • Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to debug board-level and bus-related issues (I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB).
  • Support automated test and CI pipelines for platform validation and performance testing.
  • Document designs, APIs and test procedures; communicate results to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 3+ years (Mid) or 7+ years (Senior) professional software development experience working on embedded or platform software.
  • Proficient in C/C++; Python experience is a plus.
  • Experience developing BSPs and drivers for Linux-based embedded systems (e.g., Beaglebone, Raspberry Pi).
  • Experience writing device drivers for hardware buses (I2C, SPI, Ethernet) and working with embedded processors.
  • Solid understanding of operating systems (preferably Embedded Linux) and software development lifecycle (architecture, implementation, testing).
  • Experience integrating and testing open-source middleware, libraries and drivers.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with GNU toolchain, debuggers, ARM processors, bootloaders (u-boot).
  • Familiarity with CI/DevOps tools (Jenkins), version control (Git, Perforce) and code review processes.
  • Experience with performance testing of communication devices, gRPC/Protobuf, SystemC/TLM, or HW verification languages (SystemVerilog, UVM).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
