Job Title

ESD Device Design Engineer Intern (Jan-Jun 2027)

Role Summary

This internship supports the development of electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection devices and I/O device guidance for integrated circuit products. The intern will perform hands-on device experiments, assist with device design for high-voltage applications, run TCAD simulations after training, and prepare technical data and reports to support product reliability and customer inquiries.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Intended for current undergraduate students; the role is a full-time internship (expected 40 hours/week).

Responsibilities

Work under mentor supervision to support ESD device development and related tasks.

  • Conduct device design experiments with mentor guidance to learn semiconductor device concepts and experimental methods.
  • Assist with ESD device design for high-voltage applications (12–85V and 100/200V) across 180nm to 28nm CMOS/BCD technologies.
  • Perform TCAD simulations for ESD devices after receiving training.
  • Prepare technical data, analysis, and reports to support customer ESD inquiries.
  • Assist in developing latch-up prevention rules by preparing technical reports based on experimental results.
  • Follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and perform all work safely and responsibly.

Requirements

Core expectations and desirable qualifications for candidates.

  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
  • Willingness to learn semiconductor device principles and follow mentor direction.
  • Ability to prepare clear technical reports and analyses.
  • Nice-to-have: prior related internship or co-op experience, leadership experience in projects or competitions, project management skills, and interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity.

Education Requirements
