Role Summary

Lead CAD flow and ESD design methodology for analog/mixed-signal and digital ASIC development, ensuring robust ESD protection and reliable automated design flows. Manage CAD and ESD teams, drive tool and flow adoption, and collaborate with design and program stakeholders to meet technical and schedule targets.

Experience Level

Senior - requires extensive experience: typically 12+ years in ESD and CAD roles with at least 3+ years of people management or technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing CAD flows, establishing ESD design practices, and leading teams responsible for tool delivery and design compliance.

• Oversee development, maintenance, and deployment of CAD flows (PERC, PathFinder and related flows) and associated automation.
• Define, document, and enforce ESD design guidelines; review designs for ESD compliance and recommend mitigations.
• Lead, mentor, and manage CAD/ESD engineers; conduct performance reviews and delegate work.
• Provide internal user support for CAD tools and flows; troubleshoot flow and run-time issues.
• Perform design-level ESD analysis and simulations to identify vulnerabilities and verify protections.
• Plan and manage CAD/ESD projects, timelines, and resource allocation across teams.
• Evaluate and integrate new CAD/ESD tools and technologies into existing workflows.
• Ensure quality control of CAD outputs and compliance with industry and company standards.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools, and experience for this role.

• Minimum 12+ years experience in ESD and CAD engineering and at least 3+ years of management or technical leadership experience.
• Advanced proficiency with EDA/CAD tools (examples: Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys PrimeTime, Ansys RedHawk/Seascape/Totem/PathFinder, Calibre, Verilog).
• Proficient scripting skills (Perl, Python); EDA-specific languages such as Skill and TCL are a plus.
• Deep understanding of ESD fundamentals, physics, and ESD-safe design practices; experience with ESD analysis and simulation tools.
• Experience with file management, version control, and data management for CAD applications.
• Strong leadership, team-building, project management, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders and drive process improvements.

Education Requirements

MS in Engineering or a similar advanced engineering degree is specified.

Compensation and Benefits

The posted base salary range is USD 129,400.00 to USD 207,000.00 per year.
