Job Title
ESD and Latch-up Test Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and execute ESD and latch-up qualification and characterization tests for GPU and Tegra products. Work with internal design, product, and failure-analysis teams and with external vendors to build and validate test fixtures, stress programs, and qualification documentation.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Mid-Career). The posting specifies 5+ years of related experience.
Responsibilities
Execute qualification and characterization programs, maintain test equipment, and report results to engineering teams.
- Plan and perform ESD (HBM, CDM) and latch-up qualification for new and updated products per JEDEC/AEC standards.
- Develop HBM, CDM, latch-up I-test, and supply overvoltage stress programs.
- Collaborate with external vendors to design, build, and validate test fixtures (boards, sockets, thermal plungers).
- Characterize ESD and latch-up on test chips with new I/O interfaces and protection structures.
- Debug marginal or failing pins and coordinate root-cause analysis with Failure Analysis, Design, and Product teams.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot in-house ESD and latch-up test equipment (HBM, CDM, 2-pin, TLP, latch-up testers).
- Update and maintain internal test databases, documentation, and online resources.
Requirements
Essential technical skills and hands-on test experience required.
- Familiarity with JEDEC and AEC standards for ESD and latch-up qualification.
- Practical experience developing ESD and latch-up stress programs using MK4 and Orion testers.
- Solid knowledge of CMOS I/O circuits and ESD protection structures.
- Ability to analyze IC electrical test data and interpret qualification results.
- Experience debugging ESD or latch-up failures at the pin, circuit, or product level.
- Familiarity with semiconductor reliability qualification flows and coordination with external test vendors.
- Strong written and verbal communication to summarize technical findings and drive issues to closure.
- Nice-to-have: some experience with 93K tester program development.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, or equivalent practical experience. The posting also specifies 5+ years of related experience as an alternative to or in addition to the degree.
