The engineer will drive production efficiency, yield, and equipment reliability through measurement, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and coordination with suppliers and global manufacturing sites.

Experience Level

Level - Mid-Career. Typical candidates have 3+ years of relevant experience; fresh graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for the role include:

  • Own operation and performance of critical high-volume manufacturing equipment and process modules.
  • Perform tests and measurements to control critical dimensions and detect defects; analyze results to drive corrective action.
  • Recommend and implement equipment and process modifications to improve safety, quality, cost, productivity, and yield.
  • Manage manufacturing capacity and support factory ramps, including equipment install/conversion and qualification activities.
  • Execute and oversee maintenance and repair activities for tools and modules.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects and interact with equipment suppliers as needed.
  • Develop and optimize excursion prevention and detection systems for equipment/processes.
  • Participate in technology transfer: training, installation audits, and qualification to ensure matched processing across sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and extended teams to meet production and program milestones.

Requirements

Minimum and preferred skills, excluding formal education listed below.

  • Must-have: At least 3 years of relevant experience in equipment/process support for semiconductor manufacturing or equivalent practical experience.
  • Must-have: Ability to work onsite and operate within scheduled shift patterns (Shift 1, Malaysia).
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, process control, and qualification activities in a high-volume fab environment.
  • Must-have: Strong measurement and data-analysis skills to control process variables and drive corrective actions.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with technology transfer between manufacturing sites, supplier engagement, and formal qualification processes (safety and manufacturing readiness).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience leading continuous-improvement projects targeting safety, quality, cost, productivity, defects, or yield.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Chemical engineering, or another technical/science discipline is listed; a Master's degree in those fields is also referenced. The posting indicates these qualifications can be met via a combination of industry experience, internships, or relevant coursework/research, so equivalent practical experience is acceptable. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
