EPYC System Execution Engineer
Role Summary
Hands-on engineer responsible for integrating, executing, and performing preliminary troubleshooting of DPPM calculation tests for AMD enterprise/server products. Works with DPPM debug leads, program managers, and cross-functional teams to improve testing efficiency and SoC validation coverage.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early-career β requires over 2 years of relevant experience in automation and testing environments.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include integrating DPPM tests into large-scale automation, executing and monitoring tests, and performing first-level debugging and tooling to improve coverage and execution reliability.
- Integrate DPPM calculation tests into data-center scale automation environments.
- Own execution of DPPM test content, including monitoring and troubleshooting (occasional weekend work).
- Perform initial debug of DPPM execution failures; implement corrective measures or escalate for advanced debugging.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance test efficiency and create software tools to streamline validation and debugging.
- Develop robust solutions to address execution and infrastructure problems.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and constraints.
- Proficient in Python and shell scripting.
- Experience with test automation and running tests at scale on server hardware.
- Practical knowledge of first-level debug on x86 SoC and computer/system platforms.
- Solid understanding of Linux and the Linux OS kernel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Authorized to work in the United States; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with automation and CI tools: Ansible, PyInfra, Jenkins, Docker.
- Linux server administration and familiarity with Linux boot flow.
- Familiarity with computer architecture, silicon features, and RAS x86.
- Experience designing and implementing test automation and continuous integration systems.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field (BS, MSEE or equivalent). The role expects approximately 2+ years of relevant experience in test automation/validation development, test execution, and debug.
