Environment QA Intern (SSP - CIC)
Role Summary
Two-month summer internship (July–August 2026) on the CIC Environment QA team in Cairo (hybrid). The intern will contribute to quality assurance for the Solido Design Environment by defining and executing test plans, diagnosing and reporting defects, and collaborating with development and marketing to improve product quality and usability.
Work includes manual and automated testing, GUI validation, and applying AI/ML concepts to testing and product feedback.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Targeted at university students and early-career candidates.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and participate in release test plans and quality plans in coordination with development and marketing teams.
- Execute functional and GUI tests, analyze results, diagnose issues, and report defects to development teams.
- Validate usability and other product quality attributes (FURPS), with emphasis on GUI/user experience.
- Provide feedback from a designer's perspective to enhance functionality and user experience, leveraging AI techniques where applicable.
- Support test automation and regression-prevention activities.
Requirements
Key requirements and skills:

Must-have: Strong programming and software testing skills, especially Python and object-oriented programming (OOP).
- Familiarity with manual testing of complex desktop applications and GUI testing principles and tools (examples: Qt, Squish, Selenium).
- Understanding of test automation, regression prevention, and software quality assurance methodologies.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and large language model (LLM) concepts; basic API testing experience.
- Knowledge or hands-on experience with analog/mixed-signal IC schematic and layout design and basic verification flows.
- Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, and teamwork skills; self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Nice-to-have: Experience with EDA tools/environments (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys Custom Designer) and SPICE simulators.
Education Requirements
3rd- or 4th-year undergraduate student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
