Job Title

Entry Level VLSI Design Engineer

Role Summary

Full-time, on-site engineering role based in New York, NY. The engineer will assist senior engineers in designing, modeling, and verifying digital and mixed-signal circuits across the ASIC/FPGA design flow.

Day-to-day work includes implementing design specifications, running simulations, supporting layout and timing closure, debugging with cross-functional teams, documenting design decisions, and preparing technical reports.

Experience Level

Entry-level (0–3 years of relevant experience).

Responsibilities

Primary duties include supporting design, verification, and documentation under guidance from senior staff.

  • Assist in design, modeling, and verification of digital and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Collaborate on design specifications and create or review schematics.
  • Run circuit simulations and analyze results to guide design decisions.
  • Support layout and timing-closure activities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to debug and resolve design issues.
  • Document design decisions and maintain design files and version control.
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback.
  • Prepare technical reports and design documentation.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay current with VLSI tools and methodologies.

Must-have:

  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles relevant to VLSI and digital design.
  • Understanding of design flows and verification concepts; strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience or coursework using CAD tools for circuit design, simulation, and layout.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, follow structured workflows, and document work clearly.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in New York, NY.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with HDL languages (Verilog, VHDL) and basic ASIC/FPGA design concepts.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering or product-design fundamentals for system-level integration and packaging.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
