Role Summary
Join Boeing's Electronic Products team in Mountain View, CA to develop digital ICs and SoCs for aerospace and defense systems. The role focuses on implementing and verifying FPGA/ASIC designs, integrating IP, and validating hardware for space-focused programs.
Experience Level
Entry-level — suitable for recent graduates or engineers with internship/project experience in ASIC/FPGA design or verification.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include design implementation, verification, and hardware validation.
- Develop and implement FPGA/ASIC designs from micro-architecture through physical realization.
- Integrate DSP and third-party IP into system designs.
- Perform static timing analysis, LEC, CDC checks, linting, and related verification tasks.
- Create self-checking, reusable testbenches and verification environments using OOP concepts and UVM.
- Develop functional coverage models and close code coverage in simulation.
- Support FPGA-based prototyping and perform hardware integration and validation tests with specialized equipment.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and clearance requirements, followed by desirable skills.
- US citizenship and ability to obtain a US security clearance.
- Familiarity with RTL languages: Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog.
- Experience with hardware verification: UVM, self-checking testbenches, functional and code coverage.
- Knowledge of static timing analysis, logical equivalence checking (LEC), CDC analysis, and lint flows.
- Proficiency with Linux and scripting (Make, Perl, Python); experience with revision control (svn, git).
- Experience supporting FPGA prototyping and hardware integration testing.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with hardware emulators (e.g. Palladium).
- Familiarity with high-speed serial interfaces (JESD204C, PCIe, Ethernet).
- Knowledge of space-grade design techniques and radiation mitigation methods.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in a technical field required or equivalent practical experience. Relevant degrees include Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry. A Bachelor’s in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred; coursework, projects, or internships in ASIC/FPGA design or verification are relevant.
