Engineering Internship: Improve message mechanism between OS tasks of embedded software
Role Summary
The NFC Software team in Caen develops firmware and middleware for NXP NFC components used in mobile phones and connected devices. This internship supports redesign and validation of the inter-task messaging mechanism in embedded OS software.
Work will include analysis, implementation, debugging, testing and documentation of an updated software architecture. The role is a 6-month final-year internship based in Caen.
Experience Level
Entry-level (internship). Intended for final-year engineering students or Master 2 students; 6-month duration.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities during the internship include:
- Analyze requirements for redesign of the inter-task messaging mechanism.
- Propose practical technical solutions and design changes.
- Implement the solutions within the existing embedded software codebase.
- Debug and test the implementation using validation methodologies and tools.
- Document the new software architecture and design decisions.
Requirements

- Must-have: experience in embedded software development and proficiency in C; familiarity with software and hardware architectures; knowledge of testing/validation methods; good level of English.
- Nice-to-have: experience with Python and/or C#; prior exposure to embedded OS task messaging or middleware; interest in rapid technical learning and software validation.
- Strong motivation for software development and ability to work in an international team.
Education Requirements
Master's level (Master 2) or final year of an Engineering School program (Bac+5) in Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
