Engineering Intern - Product Engineering & AI
Role Summary
Six-month internship supporting the Product Engineering team in Valbonne to digitalize and automate qualification planning for semiconductor products. The role combines hands-on Product Engineering tasks with data integration, API work and AI-assisted estimation and dashboarding to produce actionable project insights.
Experience Level
Entry-level (internship). Suitable for a final-year engineering student or Master's student; appropriate for candidates with little or no professional experience.
Responsibilities
Work with Product Engineers, Qualification Leads and Reliability Engineers to turn qualification inputs into data-driven estimates and tracking tools.
- Understand qualification strategies and how requirements and project data are captured in internal web applications.
- Use application interfaces and APIs to retrieve, exchange and structure qualification and reliability data.
- Translate technical inputs into estimated activities, dependencies, resources, sample needs, equipment, costs and schedules.
- Develop a reusable framework to produce preliminary cost and schedule estimates and project tracking dashboards.
- Apply AI techniques to organize technical information, detect data inconsistencies, support estimation and generate engineering summaries under senior validation.
- Validate generated estimates with experienced engineers and propose improvements.
- Contribute to Product Engineering data analysis and qualification follow-up as required by projects.

- Must-have: Interest in semiconductors, product qualification and reliability; interest in applying AI to engineering workflows; ability to understand technical processes and convert them into structured digital solutions; strong English communication skills; curiosity, rigor and autonomy.
- Nice-to-have: Initial experience with coding and APIs, Python, data processing, databases, Mendix, Excel or Power BI.
Education Requirements
Final-year engineering student (Bachelor cycle) or Master's student in electronics, microelectronics, computer science, data engineering or a related technical field. The position is a six-month internship in Valbonne.
