Engineering Intern - AI Tools Development for EMC/ESD Knowledge Automation
Role Summary
Work within the EMC/ESD team in Toulouse to design and implement AI-based tools and workflows that automate engineering tasks and capture the team's technical knowledge. Deliver scripts, knowledge-base structure, and AI assistants to support EMC/ESD analysis, reporting, and design recommendations.
Hands-on internship focused on prototyping and evaluating generative AI and machine learning solutions applied to EMC/ESD problems.

Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
- Review state-of-the-art generative AI and machine learning methods relevant to EMC/ESD engineering.
- Assess internal NXP AI tools and identify opportunities to apply them to EMC/ESD workflows.
- Develop scripts and automation tools for data processing, analysis and reporting.
- Design and implement an intelligent workflow to access and query the team's technical documentation.
- Structure and enrich a knowledge base with lessons learned, best practices and design recommendations.
- Develop AI assistants for document search, analysis support, report generation and technical recommendations.
- Participate in EMC/ESD projects to gain domain context and validate solutions.
- Evaluate performance and benefits of developed solutions and document results for stakeholders.
Requirements
Required and desired skills for the internship.
- Must-have: Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Python); basic knowledge of machine learning, generative AI, or data processing; ability to manipulate, structure and analyze technical data; good English for international collaboration.
- Must-have: Good knowledge of analog and digital electronics and foundational EMC/ESD concepts.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with ML toolkits, data pipelines, knowledge-base systems, or prior projects applying AI to engineering problems.
- Soft skills: Scientific curiosity, initiative, autonomy, analytical thinking, and teamwork.
Education Requirements
Engineering student or Masters degree student (M.Sc., final year / Master 2, Bac+5) in Electronics, Microelectronics, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related technical field.
