Engineering Intern - AI for Embedded Software Test Specifications

Role Summary

Join the NFC Software team in Caen to apply AI techniques to generate and automate precise test specifications and traceability for embedded NFC firmware and middleware. The team develops internal validation tools used at large scale for devices that implement secure communications (payments, access control, secure data exchange).

This is a 6-month final-year internship focused on using AI to produce test artifacts and integrate them into the team's test database.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for a final-year engineering student or master's candidate (6-month duration).

Responsibilities

The intern will perform one or more of the following tasks:

• Analyze test and product requirements and propose technical solutions.
• Use AI to create highly detailed test specifications from top-down and bottom-up perspectives.
• Use AI to generate exhaustive descriptions of conditions required for test execution, including preconditions, hardware configuration, and software configuration.
• Automate traceability links between test cases and software specifications using AI.
• Publish generated test artifacts into the team's test database.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

• Software development knowledge: software and hardware architectures.
• Programming experience in C and Python; familiarity with C# is expected.
• Knowledge of validation and testing methodologies.
• Good command of English to operate in an international environment.
• Strong interest in software development and ability to learn new technical topics quickly.

Nice-to-have (if available):

• Prior exposure to embedded systems, firmware, or test automation tools.

Education Requirements

Master's degree (MSc) or final year of an Engineering School program (Bac+5 / Master 2) in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related field (equivalent qualifications acceptable).
