Wireless SoC RF Integration and Validation Engineer
AppleJob Title
Wireless SoC RF Integration and Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Work on Apple's wireless silicon team to deliver RF integration solutions for wireless SoCs, covering DUT control, pre-silicon emulation/simulation, RF calibration, bring-up, validation, and compliance through productization.
This role requires cross-domain work across RF/analog, system/DSP, firmware, and test automation to enable mass production and final silicon validation.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typically expects 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing integration sequences, performing bring-up and validation, and creating calibration and test automation to characterize RF performance.
- Develop and integrate end-to-end DUT control sequences and verify them with emulation systems.
- Perform wireless SoC RF functionality bring-up and final silicon validation.
- Design and implement RF block and system calibrations, including algorithms and optimizations.
- Characterize and optimize RF performance metrics (Psat, IP3, NF, ACPR, phase noise, lock time, return loss).
- Design RF test benches and implement scripts to control SoCs and communicate with test equipment.
- Write scripts to parse, plot, and analyze large data sets and generate performance summary reports.
- Develop RF calibrations and tests for Wafer ATE and Module ATE for mass production and analyze ATE failures.
- Develop RF firmware or reference scripts (Python) and integrate with embedded systems.
Requirements
Concise list of must-have and preferred technical skills for successful performance in the role.
- Must-have: 3+ years of relevant industry experience in RF/SoC integration or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with RF test automation, scripting, and data analysis (Python preferred).
- Must-have: Experience with RF performance characterization and optimization.
- Preferred: Familiarity with RF test equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, vector signal analyzer/generator).
- Preferred: Understanding of RF transceiver architectures, RFIC block-level schematics, RF PCB design and debug.
- Preferred: Experience with embedded systems and C programming; automation framework development.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience are listed as minimum qualifications.
Additional Information
Base pay range for this role is listed between $129,300 and $225,300 (location-dependent). Apple offers standard employee benefits and may provide discretionary RSU awards, bonuses, and relocation where applicable. For general benefit information, see Apple Benefits and Accessibility at Apple.
