Engineering Intern - AI-driven Generation and Qualification of Surrogate Behavioral Models
Role Summary
This internship is in the Design Enablement department in Toulouse, supporting circuit design teams by developing tools that use Generative AI to create and qualify surrogate behavioral models.
The intern will research and prototype AI-driven workflows, build Python-based agents and automation, and deliver validated methods and documentation for engineering use.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Suitable for engineering students or recent graduates; no minimum years of professional experience specified.
Responsibilities
Define, prototype, evaluate and communicate AI-assisted methods for behavioral model generation and qualification.
- Gather and translate engineering needs into clear technical requirements.
- Investigate and apply LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic AI approaches to semiconductor design workflows.
- Design and implement Python-based AI agents and automation tools.
- Prototype and evaluate AI-assisted generation, verification, and qualification of surrogate behavioral models.
- Measure performance improvements and identify further automation opportunities.
- Document technical results and present findings and deployment options to engineering teams.
Requirements

- Must-have: Good knowledge of analog electronics and integrated circuit fundamentals.
- Must-have: Strong Python programming skills and experience building reliable scripts/tools.
- Must-have: Solid foundation in artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts.
- Must-have: Analytical, proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
- Must-have: Strong written and verbal communication to collaborate with international teams.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with LLMs, RAG, agentic AI or prior experience prototyping AI agents and automation pipelines.
- Nice-to-have: Previous exposure to semiconductor design flows or automation in engineering workflows.
Education Requirements
Engineering degree (Diplôme d'ingénieur) or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
