Job Title
Engineering Director - Performance Analysis
Role Summary
Lead SoC performance and power modeling and analysis across Arm SoC/SoP platforms. Drive architectural tradeoffs, develop profiling and modeling infrastructure, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver pre- and post-silicon performance solutions for servers, accelerators, client, and embedded markets.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 18+ years of experience in SoC performance modeling and analysis in the semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive and resolve architectural investigations and performance/power tradeoff studies across SoC components (CPU, GPU, NPU, Media, IO, interconnects, memory controllers).
- Perform workload characterization to identify performance bottlenecks and propose architectural solutions; conduct workload compaction for modeling.
- Create and maintain profiling, visualization, and modeling frameworks; implement automation to streamline production processes.
- Collaborate and build consensus with architects, IP teams, design teams, and customers; coordinate system-level infrastructure efforts.
- Mentor and develop technical staff and lead cross-team technical coordination.
- Stay current with advancements in application development, workload characterization, and performance/power/thermal analysis.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 18+ years of experience in SoC performance modeling and analysis in the semiconductor industry.
- Deep understanding of CPU/GPU microarchitecture including pipelines, caches, and memory hierarchy.
- Proficient in C/C++ and Python; familiarity with SystemC TLM.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to convey complex technical solutions.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of interconnect micro-architecture and protocols such as PCIe/CXL and CHI.
- Experience with workload optimization under system constraints (TDP, limits).
- Experience with Unix, scripting, and source control systems (Git, Subversion).
- Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Education Requirements
Background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is specified (for example a relevant bachelor's degree). The posting lists these fields as the expected technical background but does not state a strict minimum degree level or explicitly mention "or equivalent experience".
