Engineer, Yield Enhancement

Role Summary

As a Yield Enhancement Engineer in Micron's fab team, you will analyze inline, param, probe, and experimental data to identify and prioritize processing and design issues that limit wafer yield. You will work with fabrication process areas, tools, and cross-functional teams to implement fixes and support yield ramp and quality improvements.

The role supports transfer of next-generation technology from R&D into production and seeks continuous improvements in yield and product quality.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Perform statistical and data analysis of inline, param, probe, and experimental data to diagnose yield issues.
• Apply device physics, electronics, and manufacturing process knowledge to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Communicate process/tool-related yield toggles and support process areas in implementing fixes.
• Collaborate with internal Yield Enhancement groups and form multi-area focus teams to resolve complex problems.
• Publish Pareto analyses identifying top yield limiters for assigned part types.
• Present findings and data in large meetings and to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support transfer of next-generation technology from R&D into production.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools and share AI-enabled process improvements within scope of work.

• Strong analytical, logical, and critical thinking skills; experience with statistical/data-analysis tools.
• Effective verbal and written communicator; able to collaborate across all levels and present technical data.

• Baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced fab environment and deliver timely, accurate yield analyses.
• Able to lead or participate in cross-functional teams and influence process/tool owners.
• Nice-to-have: internship or prior experience in the semiconductor industry.
• Nice-to-have: demonstrated leadership and a track record of measurable impact.
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and Micron products.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Science is required.
