Responsibilities
Key technical and reporting responsibilities for yield and failure analysis:
- Perform electrical failure analysis (EFA) and fault isolation.
- Operate photon, thermal, and laser stimulating-emission tools (e.g., Hamamatsu iPHEMOS, Thermo Fisher ELITE).
- Characterize or model probe test and internal qualification failure signatures.
- Use layout and schematics to support fault isolation and fail-signature modeling.
- Apply physical failure analysis (PFA) and de-processing techniques to investigate failures.
- Understand fabrication process flow, package assembly, and process-level methodologies.
- Generate organized, timely failure analysis reports with clearly communicated cause-and-effect findings.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness, while exercising sound judgment and complying with standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within scope of work.
