Role Summary
Systems Engineer on Qualcomm's Systems Engineering team in Hod Hasharon, Israel. Researches, designs, develops, simulates, and validates systems-level algorithms and solutions for ultra-high-speed optical communication systems. Collaborates with firmware, architecture, VLSI design, and verification teams to deliver ASIC implementations and validate system-level performance.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include algorithm development, system testing, hardware-aware implementation, and post-silicon validation.
- Research and develop algorithms for ultra-high-speed optical communication systems.
- Test and optimize system performance in simulation, FPGA, ASIC, and laboratory environments.
- Develop algorithms suitable for hardware and firmware implementation, including fixed-point design and cost/power/performance trade-offs.
- Work closely with firmware, architecture, VLSI design, and verification teams for block and system ASIC implementation and validation.
- Perform post-silicon activities including chip bring-up, testing, analysis, and optimization of ASIC performance.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience.
- Approximately 2+ years of Algo/Systems Engineering or related work experience.
- Experience developing algorithms for high-speed communication systems and validating them across simulation, FPGA, ASIC, and lab setups.
- Experience with hardware-aware algorithm design (fixed-point design, trade-offs among cost, power, and performance).
- Proven ability to collaborate with firmware, architecture, VLSI design, and verification teams to enable ASIC implementation.
- Experience with post-silicon bring-up, testing, performance analysis, and optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to demonstrate competencies relevant to the role.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in high-speed interfaces (e.g., SerDes, PCIe).
- Experience with optical communication systems.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's degree in a related field. Candidates with equivalent practical experience will be considered.
