Engineer, SSD Validation

Role Summary

Join the SSD Validation Engineering team to develop and execute validation strategies for PCIe SSD products. Partner with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and cross-site teams to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically requires 3+ years of validation or related engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Define and execute validation plans, implement automated test frameworks, and drive defect resolution throughout the product lifecycle.

• Define validation strategy, test cases, coverage and PASS/FAIL criteria for functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design test implementation strategy and software architecture for development and debug.
• Plan and implement test automation and in-house frameworks/tools.
• Execute product validation flows, monitor and reduce test time, and analyze results (bin pareto).
• Report findings clearly and maintain test documentation and revision history.
• Root-cause failures and coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive issues to closure.
• Recommend and deploy new validation approaches to improve coverage and efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• 3+ years of product validation experience with demonstrated ability to develop and implement validation strategies.
• Deep knowledge of PCIe SSDs, NAND, memory/storage hierarchy, and NVMe protocol.
• Strong Python scripting and test automation experience.
• Experience defining statistical and environmental (temperature/cycle) criteria for pass/fail decisions.
• Proven ability to analyze problems, diagnose root cause, and apply corrective actions.
• Experience implementing test processes and refining validation methodologies.
• Proven use of AI-assisted coding or automation tools to improve development or testing efficiency.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience working with manufacturing, quality, or reliability engineering teams.

Education Requirements

BS in an engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience; the posting explicitly allows equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
