Engineer, SSD Validation
Role Summary
The Engineer, SSD Validation designs, develops, and maintains automated performance and power validation test cases and frameworks for data center SSD products. The role translates product, customer, and standards requirements into scalable test methodologies and ensures timely test enablement against program milestones.
The engineer works with Performance Validation Leads, Firmware, System Architecture, Infrastructure, and Customer Performance teams and applies software development and automation practices (including AI-assisted tools) to improve test effectiveness and engineering productivity.

Responsibilities
Deliver and maintain validation test solutions, own validation strategy, and coordinate cross-functional test enablement.
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize automated performance and power validation test cases for data center SSDs.
- Translate product, customer, and PCIe/NVMe requirements into scalable automated tests and validation solutions.
- Develop and maintain performance validation test plans, methodologies, and best practices across SSD programs.
- Identify validation gaps and define comprehensive test coverage for performance and power metrics (latency, bandwidth, IOPS, QoS, power).
- Collaborate with firmware, architecture, infrastructure, and customer teams to align test development with feature enablement and program milestones.
- Support Git-based workflows, automated build systems, and continuous integration for test code and frameworks.
- Perform sanity validation and track test readiness, coverage status, and risks for stakeholders.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools responsibly to improve productivity and test quality; drive continuous improvement of validation processes.

- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Proficiency in Python and experience building automated test solutions, frameworks, or validation tools.
- Experience in SSD validation test development, including implementation, automation, and qualification of performance, power, or firmware feature tests.
- Strong understanding of SSD architecture and metrics: latency, bandwidth, IOPS, QoS, and power characteristics.
- Familiarity with PCIe and NVMe protocols, Windows and Linux operating systems, and Git-based development practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated build systems, and code review practices (preferred).
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to apply AI-enabled tools effectively and responsibly for research, analysis, and operational tasks.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
