Job Title

Engineer, SIG Electrical Design

Role Summary

Design and validate load boards and related PCB assemblies used for semiconductor memory testing within the Systems Integration Group (SIG). Work with cross-functional engineering teams, technicians, procurement, and contract manufacturers to develop, qualify, and support test hardware and deployed ATE products.

Primary mission: produce reliable load board designs, debug assemblies, and support prototype qualification and production issues.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not specify years of experience; responsibilities and independence descriptions indicate a role with limited autonomy that may suit early- to mid-career engineers.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include design, verification, and support of load boards and PCB assemblies:

  • Develop requirements specifications for load boards and test hardware.
  • Analog and digital circuit design and simulation for PCB-based test solutions.
  • Schematic capture and collaboration with PCB layout designers.
  • Author test plans, lab reports, and verification documentation.
  • Debug and verify PCB assemblies; use oscilloscope, power supplies, electronic loads, and TDR instruments.
  • Python scripting and data analysis to support test and validation activities.
  • Manage engineering changes and document designs using version control processes.
  • Support prototype qualification, customer deployment, design changes, and issue resolution for released designs.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into workflows and share improvements to increase efficiency and quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and capabilities:

  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design and simulation for PCB assemblies.
  • Schematic capture and familiarity with PCB design workflows and collaboration with layout engineers.
  • Hands-on experience debugging and verifying PCB assemblies using lab instrumentation (oscilloscope, TDR, power supplies, electronic loads).
  • Practical Python scripting and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to produce test plans, lab reports, and controlled design documentation; use of version control for engineering changes.
  • Effective communication and teamwork across engineering disciplines, technicians, procurement, and external manufacturers.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and load board test interfaces.
  • Knowledge of high-speed signal integrity, power distribution on PCBs, and PCB layout constraints for test systems.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and prototype qualification processes.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
