Job Title

Engineer, SIG Electrical Design

Role Summary

Design and validate electronic systems and test equipment used for semiconductor and SSD testing. Work on PCB and digital/analog design, signal and power integrity, prototype build and verification, and production support in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level. The posting specifies approximately 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and support of electronics and test equipment for semiconductor products and SSDs.

  • Assess technology requirements, perform feasibility studies and decision analysis.
  • Define design requirements and plan resources with cross-functional teams.
  • Design and verify electronics and prototypes for semiconductor and SSD test equipment.
  • Design PCBs and oversee board layout and artwork.
  • Design digital circuits and logic (FPGA), and implement communication buses (PCIe) and memory interfaces (DDR).
  • Perform signal and power integrity analysis and simulation (e.g., HyperLynx).
  • Work with manufacturing and NPI teams to ensure DFM and DFT compliance.
  • Debug and analyze electronics using lab instruments (oscilloscopes, meters, logic analyzers, probes, power supplies).
  • Document designs, manage engineering changes and version control, and support prototype qualification and released designs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; listed concisely.

  • Experience designing electronics for semiconductor test equipment or similar electronic systems.
  • PCB design experience and familiarity with board layout oversight.
  • Design and verification experience with digital logic and FPGAs; working knowledge of PCIe and DDR interfaces.
  • Signal and power integrity analysis and simulation experience (HyperLynx or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in debugging with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, probes, power supplies.
  • Experience with SSD test equipment, including test development, debug, assembly, and operation.
  • Ability to perform design of experiments and write technical reports focused on test equipment and PCIe-based systems.
  • Experience working with manufacturing/NPI for DFM/DFT requirements and supporting product qualification.
  • Familiarity with power-supply subsystem and analog circuit design is beneficial.
